Eco-Emotions Nature Discovery

This workshop will explore how nature-based experiences can support children’s emotional wellbeing and development. It will highlight the connection between the natural environment and emotional literacy, offering practical ideas for integrating outdoor learning and eco-awareness into inclusive early years practice.

Lorraine Diggins is a dedicated Early Years Specialist at Early Childhood Ireland, where she leads the innovative Eco-Emotions project. With over eight years’ experience as a Forest School teacher, she is passionate about inclusive, outdoor, play-based learning. A College Gold Medal graduate of the Early Childhood Care and Education programme at Mary Immaculate College, Lorraine previously held the role of LINC+ CPD Tutor on the Leadership for Inclusion programme. She also holds a Master’s in Adult and Further Education.
Currently completing a PhD, her research focuses on developing a research community of practice where graduate Early Years Educators can share and build upon their own research.
