Lorraine Diggins
Lorraine is a dedicated educator and researcher specialising in Early Childhood Care and Education, with a particular passion for inclusive education and outdoor play. As the current acting LINC+ CPD Tutor, Lorraine brings a wealth of experience and knowledge to her role, empowering educators to support children with diverse needs. A distinguished graduate of Mary Immaculate College, Lorraine was awarded the prestigious College Gold Medal for her Bachelor of Arts in Early Childhood Care and Education.
Lorraine’s professional journey includes years of hands-on experience in early childhood settings, which ignited her enthusiasm for fostering inclusive, play-based learning environments. She continued her studies with a Master’s in Adult and Further Education, further equipping her to teach Special Needs Assisting and Early Learning and Care modules, as well as the LINC+ CPD program.
Currently a PhD candidate, Lorraine’s research focuses on developing a framework for communities of practice that supports inclusive transitions for children moving from preschool to primary school. Her work seeks to build collaborative networks that facilitate smooth, supportive transitions for young learners. In addition to her academic and professional accomplishments, Lorraine has completed programs in Blended Learning Design and Universal Design for Learning, highlighting her commitment to accessible and effective educational practices. Her contributions reflect her dedication to fostering inclusive, supportive learning communities for both children and educators.
