Maricica Bibu

Maricica Bibu is a dedicated educator and practitioner with extensive experience in supporting children and families. She currently serves as a Tutor for the Leadership for Inclusion in the Early Years (LINC) program at Mary Immaculate College, where she draws on her broad experience to teach and mentor future early childhood professionals.

Before joining the LINC team, Maricica worked as a Children’s Play Facilitator with Pobal/Better Start, where she led play-based interventions for children, particularly from Ukrainian refugee families. In this role, she utilized her trauma-informed training to create safe, healing spaces that helped children rebuild their social and emotional resilience through the power of play.

Maricica also held the position of Child and Family Development Worker with Barnardos, where she managed caseloads and delivered tailored support to families facing challenges. Her work focused on both immediate and long-term interventions, improving the well-being and stability of children and parents.

Additionally, Maricica served as a Mentor at the Marino Institute of Education, guiding students in their academic and personal development. Through her mentorship, she fostered empathy, respect, and a holistic approach to learning, empowering students to reach their full potential.

In June 2024, Maricica completed a Micro-Credential in Mentoring for Equality, Diversity, and Inclusion with Maynooth University, further strengthening her commitment to inclusive education and leadership.

Her academic credentials include QQI Level 5 and Level 6 qualifications in Early Childhood Care and Education, a BA in Early Childhood Education and Care from Dublin Institute of Technology, and a Master’s Degree in Child, Family, and Community Studies from Technological University Dublin. Maricica is also currently pursuing further professional development through the Universal Design for Learning Digital Badge and the Essentials for Teaching and Learning Online Badge.
