Dr. Aimie Brennan, B.A., M.A., Ph.D. (Sociology of Childhood), is Assistant lecturer in Education in the Department of Reflective Pedagogy and Early Childhood Studies, Mary Immaculate College. Prior to graduating from UCC with her doctoral degree, Aimie worked as the principle investigator on various educational, community and voluntary research projects both in Ireland and abroad – including Growing up in Ireland, FRIENDS, EIL Intercultural Learning. Aimie currently lectures on the BAECCE, BAECP with Tralee IT, the Bachelor of Education (B.Ed) and the Professional Masters in Education (PME). She is the Erasmus co-ordinator for the student exchange programme with Queen Maud University College, Trondheim, and is responsible for co-ordinating a number of modules in the area of sociology in the early years, with a particular interest in cultural diversity, professional identity, educational disadvantage and policy development in the early years. Aimie also teaches research methods and supervises educational research projects from undergraduate dissertation to Ph.D. level
