Phil Lynch is Coordinator of Bachelor of Arts in Early Childhood Teaching and Learning with the Froebel Department. Phil is involved in researching and developing curriculum content, monitoring and moderating programme delivery to ensure compliance with University regulations and Quality Assurance systems, providing academic support for students, coordinating programme delivery, resources and students, mentoring and inducting new lecturers, lecturing across a range of topics, supervising student research and professional practice placements and internal verification of results. Phil previously worked as an Early Years Specialist with Early Childhood Ireland, training and providing continuing professional development for trainers for early years’ educators and primary teachers. She has developed new programme awards and modules with associated assessment specifications. She has a special interest in child protection and was a trainer of trainers for the roll out of the National Early Years Children First initiative. She represented the National Voluntary Childcare Collaborative on two Childcare Committees and was a member of other local partnerships. Phil has presented on a range of early years related topics at research conferences both nationally and internationally (EECERA, CECDE, IPPA, Early Childhood Ireland, Men in Childcare) and has contributed to articles for ECI magazine and website. She commenced her career in the early years’ sector as owner manager of a number of private early years’ services, full day care and sessional working with children aged from birth to 6 years with a range of abilities.
